Director

[edit]

IMDb only lists one director but I checked the opening credits for this film and it does list two directors: Mikael Salomon, Jake Newsome.

It is not clear why someone tried to wikilink Jake Newsome to the article for Eric Bross. -- 109.76.215.24 (talk) 20:20, 8 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The Wikipedia article Eric Bross does not include any information about Jake Newsome. Buried in the IMDB trivia page for Eric Bross is a claim that Jake Newsome is a pseudonym that Eric Bross used for this film.[1] IMDB allows user generated content, it is not a reliable source. It is a failure of WP:EGG to link from one name to a completely different name with no explanation, not even a comment in the wiki source. -- 109.76.215.24 (talk) 22:12, 8 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
In case it is not already clear this link should not be added again without a reliable source. -- 109.76.215.24 (talk) 22:21, 8 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
The above mentioned edit removed a navbox for Eric Bross. It did not address the mentions of Eric Bross in the Production section which are not sourced, which I have tagged as Citation needed.[2] Neither the claim that he was director or that he was replaced is properly sourced. -- 109.78.207.105 (talk) 06:48, 28 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I've said it before but the sourcing in this article is awful. Despite the credits only listing 2 directors an anonymous editor keeps making changes and refuses to discuss the concerns I listed above.[3] Again there is no source to show Eric Bross ever worked on this film, that he was replaced, or that Jake Newsome was somehow a pseudonym for Eric Bross. The link to a video showreel from Eric Bross is not a good source, it is not even clear that Blue Lagoon is among the clips in that reel (timestamp?). Even if it did, then it would still be a WP:PRIMARY source, a text based source from a secondary source should be provided. If it can be shown that Jake Newsome was a pseudonym then it there should be an {{Explanatory footnote}} {{efn}} or reference beside it, there should not be a wikilink from one name to a completely different name without any explanation. -- 109.79.78.84 (talk) 20:42, 3 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I have removed the unsourced claims from the article. That showreel video {{failed verification}} and does not appear to support the claim that Eric Bross was connected to this film. His credits page does not make any mention of this film. I do not think the editor who keeps adding this understands the need for proper sources and to verify especially when people are in uncredited roles. -- 109.79.80.88 (talk) 01:14, 7 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
